When we say the Christmas markets, most of us think of good food, warm mead, pleasant Christmas music and just a great Christmas mood. If the atmosphere is complemented by light snowflakes and a few degrees below zero, shopping on Christmas markets will really have the right charm. The markets of each village in Slovakia are characterized by a special program, and our capital is also a great example this year. In addition to an extraordinary meeting with friends and acquaintances, as well as small shopping opportunities, the markets are offering something extra this year. Christmas Markets are organized by the City of Bratislava and take place on the Main Square, Hviezdoslav Square, Franciscan Square, Primate's Square, Old Town Hall and Milan R. Štefánik Square - all located in the historic city center. If you are not home, there is no need for accommodation in Bratislava, not only during the Christmas markets. This year you will be able to choose between 100 stalls with various traditional and non-traditional delicacies. The stalls will be open most of the day and, of course, in the evening. There were no, no, and no need for cultural events. The children waited up to twice in the Municipal Theater of P. O. Hviezdoslav Mikuláš and on the balcony of the Primate's Palace a pre-Christmas concert took place at an unusual place called Christmas Balcony. Lovers of the Metropolitan Orchestra Bratislava will certainly be pleased by the concert entitled And We Have Holidays, which will take place in the aforementioned P. O. Hviezdoslav Theater. If you just got to come to see the concerts, you still have time to "knock" cheap accommodation in Bratislava and enjoy the Christmas culture. If you're afraid of a high price for accommodation, Hostel Bratislava and many others will provide you with comfort at a reasonable price. There will be many concerts in the individual squares, many well-known artists will perform, such as Peter Lipa & Band, Katarína Koščová with the group, Martin Harich with the group and many others. In addition to leading Slovak singers, you can also look forward to numerous performances by various folk groups or children from art schools. The program is so varied that everyone can find their own.
